Jorge Rodrigues is a PhD Candidate at National School of Public Health – Universidade NOVA de Lisboa. His main fields of research are Public Health and Health Economics associated with access to innovative medicines, with the aim of producing scientific knowledge useful to society and contributing to well-informed decision making.
He cooperates as Assessor of National Programme for Viral Hepatitis at General Directorate of Health, providing expertise assistance to define and implement a cost-effective strategy for viral hepatitis management.
In 2011, was assigned to him a title of Specialist in Regulatory Affairs by the Portuguese Pharmaceutical Society (Ordem dos Farmacêuticos).
Since 2006, he works as Pharmacist at INFARMED – National Authority of Medicines and Health Products, I.P., performing Health Technology Assessment (HTA), Prices and Reimbursement of medicines and medical devices in the last four years (previous six years of working in Regulatory Affairs).
Jorge is coordinator of the Information System for Assessment of Health Technologies (SIATS), providing real world evidence (RWE) for HTA. Also, he is a Portuguese advisor to the European Network for Health Technology Assessment (EUnetHTA).
He has (co-)authored a few book chapters, scientific papers and posters. Also, he has presented oral communications at several national and international conferences.
His interests are HTA, Health Economics, Public Health, Regulatory Affairs and Market Access.
